Personal Development

Personal development includes activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital, enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations.

In personal development I use NVC or Non-violent communication, created by Rosenberg,
It helps you to :

  • Develop your emotional vocabulary and emotional intelligence.
  • Learn how to stop dwelling on destructive feelings and to take a step back from emotional burden.
  • Assert yourself and learn to communicate and accept rejection.
  • Increase your confidence, respect and trust in your relationships with others.
  • Learn to defuse and transform aggression or conflict into dialogue.
  • Improve your listening skills and understanding of others – practice active listening
  • Break the silence and frustration.

MY PRACTICAL APPROACH

NVC helps you improve how you communicate with others through role-play using concrete situations from your life. You learn how to differentiate your judgements from your opinions, how to differentiate your feelings from your interpretation, how to ask for something from others in a positive, realistic and assertive way.

You realize how important the well-being of your employees is.
You would like each employee to grow and progress within the company.
You wish to give each of them the opportunity to spread their wings.
You have the emotional intelligence to realize the importance of inviting all your personnel to take part in a bonding seminar.
You wish to introduce non-violent, beneficial communication within the company (CNV)
You personally wish to undertake such a programme yourself.

THE METHODS I USE

First and foremost a preliminary discussion is set up between the person requesting the coaching, a representative from the human resources department and myself.
We talk about what is concerning the person and what particular aspects he or she wishes to work on. This may take two meetings if necessary.
It is of the utmost importance that the person knows when his or her objective has been reached.
We sign an agreement to commit with the person.
From there we start with a certain number of sessions.
At the end of the fifth session I carry out an intermediary assessment, to both reassure the client and myself that we are achieving the goals and milestones we have set.
The sessions take place every fortnight and each lasts one and a half hours.
